Maintaining your air conditioning system.

An air conditioning system requires regular planned maintenance to ensure it works effectively and efficiently all year round providing premium air quality and functionality. Neglecting your air conditioning system will ensure a steady decline in the performance of your system which will increase the amount of energy the system uses to gain the desired temperature set points, resulting in expensive energy bills we would all like to avoid.

Filters

There are many aspects to an air conditioning system service, starting with the filters, which are the first line of defence in protecting the evaporator coil from dirt and debris, the filters must be cleaned or replaced at least every 6 months if this is not carried out the filter will become clogged and will restrict airflow reducing the efficiency of the system significantly, by cleaning or replacing your air conditioners filters you could reduce your energy consumption by up to 30%.

Evaporator & Condensor Coils

Evaporator and condenser coils collect dirt and debris over time, even with the filter to protect the evaporator coil on the indoor unit there still needs to be periodic cleaning of the coils to ensure there are no restrictions within the coils causing poor heat transfer which again results in poor performance.

Outdoor condenser coils should be clear from any foliage and debris to allow for adequate airflow.

Condensate Drains

Condensate drains should be cleaned and cleared, to allow for adequate drainage of the condensate build-up from the evaporator and also to allow the unit to reduce the humidity in the air.
